ABSTRACT

There are a range of skills and activities a QA Manager needs to engage in to be effective in a commercial or profit driven laboratory. This paper will discuss those and the synergistic relationship that needs to exist between quality assurance and laboratory operations. All this needs to occur while continuing to focus on continuous improvement, service to the customer, maintaining an effective and efficient quality management system and of course profitability. The QA Manager will need to engage in all of this while at times facing resistance and at worst an unseen bulls eye painted on their back. This presentation should help guide a QA Manager through this ongoing journey.
