Shaun Donovan graduated from Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi in 2010 completing his thesis work on the genetic population structure of Pacific freshwater eels. He has been a senior aquatic biologist with the San Antonio River Authority since 2015, where he also serves as the Natural Resource Protection Program leader supporting numerous projects including avian research studies, freshwater mussel work, watershed protection plan development and the Texas Clean Rivers Program. In fall 2015 he successfully implemented the first dive program at a river authority in Texas, and he has been conducting ambient and storm water quality monitoring work in fresh, brackish and saltwater environments since 2004.
