ABSTRACT
This presentation will build on the previous Basic IAQ Microbial Sampling Methods session. Sampling and analysis will be discussed for the Environmental Relative Moldiness Index which uses mold-specific quantitative PCR and Bacteroides qPCR testing for detecting sewage contamination (sewage backups). Harmful microbial products such as endotoxin, mycotoxins, and glucans can be investigated and sampled in the indoor environment to determine exposure to microbes as well. The latest uses of metagenomics for IAQ studies will also be discussed.
