Cruz Ortiz Jr

Mr. Cruz Ortiz Jr. is a PhD student from the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). His work resides within the field of environmental toxicology at UCSB's Bren School of Environmental Science and Management. Mr. Ortiz received his B.S. in Earth Science from the University of California Santa Cruz, and his M.S. in Environmental Engineering Sciences from the University of Florida. His past research experience has looked at atmospheric mercury (Hg) and its uptake in terrestrial arthropods, and the cytotoxicity of encapsulated welding fumes. Mr. Ortiz is currently investigating the fate and transport of engineered nanomaterials; his objectives are to better understand how these materials move and transform through the environment.
