Ben Shorr

Mr. Ben Shorr is a Physical Scientist with NOAA’s Office of Response and Restoration with expertise at the nexus of data management, ecologic risk science and GIS principles applied to response, assessment and restoration of contaminants in the environment. Ben has most recently been the lead for NOAA’s data warehouse approach to managing the Natural Resource Damage Assessment data collected following the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, and is a lead for several of NOAA’s regional Environmental Response Mapping Applications (ERMA). Ben has a BS in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and has been with NOAA’s Office of Response and Restoration for 14 years. Prior to joining NOAA, he worked in EPA’s Superfund Program and Office of Water in Region 5.
