Ariette Schierz

Dr. Schierz is currently a Research Scientist at Texas Tech University, Lubbock. Prior to this, she was a postdoctoral researcher at The University of Texas at Austin in Dr. Danny Reibles group. From 2008-2011 she was a postdoctoral fellow at Duke University, Civil and Environmental Engineering (Dr. L. Ferguson) working on environmental implications of nanotechnology. Dr. Ariette Schierz received a PhD in Chemistry/Environmental Technology from the University of Leipzig/Helmholtz Center for Environmental Research.

Her research is focused on the fate, detection and transport of emerging contaminants in the aquatic environment. Currently, she am studying the fate of mercury and methyl mercury in sediments and developing passive sampling monitoring tools.
